Each single 45 minute private lesson is currently $55.

*Equipment and fees are included. 

A deposit is required at time of booking. Complete payment is due at time of lesson. Summer passes are purchased in full, up front, so please utilize the summer lesson selection for completing these lessons by the end of September 2024.

Each lesson is 45 minutes, with only one person on the machine at a time. The entire lesson will NOT be spent on the machine (typical will be about 30-40 minutes). The 45 minute time includes finding the proper equipment, review of proper form in the mirrors, and some off machine education. 

The ski machine is very effective - 5 to 10 minutes is equivalent to an entire run on the mountain so some customers can tire quickly. Instructors will break up the ski time with other forms of education to ensure a time well spent.

A waiting area is available for parents, observers, and siblings. 

Just yourself and some comfortable clothing! We have boots and skis/boards, but you may want to bring some socks. They don't have to be ski socks, but you'll want protection inside the boots.

You also are welcome to bring your own boots to try. Did you just get new ones and want to try them before spending the full day on the mountain? Bring them on in!

We have standard bindings for skis and boards, but if you have any specific questions, please contact us for further information.

Helmets are optional but encouraged. We have extras, but again, you are welcome to bring your own.

You MUST use our skis and snowboards. They have a special coating and are designed to maintain our carpet. Outside skis will not be permitted on the ski machine.

The short answer is no. To meet our safety requirements and provide the quality of lesson Ski Maxx expects, each 45 minutes is dedicated to a single individual. 

The longer answer is that we can make it happen, sometimes, just give us a call! If you and a friend want to come together, just book back-to-back lessons and take turns. It's that simple!

Other situations might be should there be someone who doesn't want to go the full 45 minutes, or decides to take a significant break, you are welcome to work with your instructor directly to see how to fill the remaining time appropriately. In some cases, we have more than one instructor available that we can call in IF we know ahead of time.

Reminder that not all 45 minutes will be spent on the machine - this time includes verbal instruction, gear fitting, paperwork, and stationary practice.

For the safety of all, more than one person will not be on the machine with a single instructor. 

We do not offer ski and snowboard rentals or purchase at this time. If you would like recommendations for local rental shops, please talk to your instructor. 

We do, however, offer ski and snowboard auxiliary equipment for both rent and purchase, such as harnesses, hook-ease, and wedge-ease.

Yes. Before use of the machine, each skier and boarder (or guardian if under 18) will need to sign the Agreement and Liability Waiver. Without this approval, use of the ski machine is not permitted. 

Lessons are by appointment only. If a lesson is not booked during an hour that's listed as typically open, then an instructor may not be on site. We will come and go based on appointments.

Lessons are also advertised as private, so we also do not intend to allow drop ins to observe someone on the machine.

Please call ahead before making your way to the shop so we can help get you find the answers you are looking for. You can also take a look at our gallery, and many videos/pictures posted on the website to help familiarize yourself with what we do here! (See "Gallery" on Menu, or head to the home page for more).

Skiers and boarders must be able to stand and be very stable on their own, without parent intervention. Typical minimum age is 4, however we've had kids as young as 18 months! Instructors may recommend waiting until an older age if deemed appropriate at time of lesson.

There are support bars on the slope to offer stability.  At the base of the slope there is a large mirror so you can watch your technique and get real-time feedback.  

The instructor carries a hand-held, immediate stop button, and can stop the slope at any time. The slope is made of soft carpet fibers that hurt a lot less than falling on the cold snow and ice. 

The ski machine also rotates at various speeds. Rest assured that instructors will do their best to match your ability!

Appointments need to be finalized 2 days in advance. Instructors will use the day before to come up with a plan, and if your appointment is added last minute, there's a chance no one is on site to let you in.

A deposit or payment in full is required at time of booking. 

Cancellations ahead of the 2 days can be refunded. Cancellations within the 48 hour window will not be refunded. No shows for an appointment will be charged the full amount.

Remainder of payment is due at time of booking with a deposit only purchase. Credit card information is not be saved, so please be sure to bring an additional payment method.

We do not plan to cancel for weather, but if the weather is bad enough, please watch for further instruction from Ski Maxx. It is likely we will call/text or email to reschedule.

Birthday (or other celebration!) parties are an option! Please email info@skimaxx.com for more details. We'll want to better understand your needs - ages and ability levels, total number of guests, and anything additional you might need from Ski Maxx (decorations, food prep space, entertainment in between lessons, etc).

Ski Maxx LLC (aka. Ski Maxx) will attempt to make a good faith effort to check with you before using your picture or video. 

Ski Maxx strives to celebrate the accomplishments of its clients, customers, and students, and may do so by sharing information on various platforms of print and internet-based forums, including print, online, and social media. To do this, Ski Maxx may submit pictures, videos, recordings, and other forms of publications that may be deemed desirable or necessary, with various publications, including local media (news, radio, television, their online forums, and others as identified by Ski Maxx) and social media (such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and others as identified by Ski Maxx) as well as promotions tools (such as flyers, brochures, and others as identified by Ski Maxx) for advertising purposes.

While the intent of this practice is to be informative and celebratory, Ski Maxx recognizes that concerns may arise regarding right to privacy. 

By agreeing to a lesson, you (and dependents, guests, etc.) hereby grant Ski Maxx, and any third-party agents, the absolute right and permission to use photographic portraits, pictures, digital images or videotapes in which you and your party may be included in whole or part, or reproductions thereof in color or otherwise for any lawful purpose whatsoever, including but not limited to use in any Ski Maxx publication or on the Ski Maxx website, without payment or any other consideration. Customers and guests hereby waive any right that they may have to inspect and/or approve the finished product or the copy that may be used in connection therewith, wherein likeness appears, or the use to which it may be applied. 

By agreeing to a lesson, you hereby release, discharge, and agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ski Maxx and their agents from all claims, demands, and causes of action that We have or may have by reason of this authorization or use of photographic portraits, pictures, digital images or videotapes, including any liability by virtue of any blurring, distortion, alteration, optical illusion, or use in composite form, whether intentional or otherwise, that may occur or be produced in the taking of said images or videotapes, or in processing tending towards the completion of the finished product, including publication on the internet, in brochures, or any other advertisements or promotional materials.
